About Boyd Shoker

Boyd Shoker PLLC is a virtual CPA firm helping individuals and businesses with tax preparation, planning, and year-round support. Our work ranges from small business tax matters to cross-border taxation, estates, gifts, and trusts. We’re a small, collaborative team that values thoughtful client service, clear communication, and finding better ways to work.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Tax Associate based in Washington State to prepare tax returns, communicate with clients, and help keep work moving through tax season. There is potential to transition to full-time as the firm grows. This remote role offers real flexibility to choose a schedule that works for you while meeting agreed deadlines and staying connected with the team. Whether you’re balancing family responsibilities, continuing your education, or looking for a part-time opportunity with room to grow, we’d love to hear from you.

Who Would Be a Good Fit?

You have hands-on experience preparing tax returns independently, from reviewing source documents and identifying missing information to completing a return for CPA review. You bring an established foundation in tax preparation and want to continue building your knowledge with support from experienced CPAs.

This could be a great fit for a parent seeking flexibility, someone returning to the profession, or an experienced preparer who prefers part-time work.

You’ll likely enjoy working with us if you:
• Have experience working remotely and staying organized without close supervision.
• Communicate clearly, ask questions, and keep teammates informed.
• Manage your time independently and follow through on deadlines.
• Are comfortable with technology and open to learning new tools.
• Take pride in accurate work and making the process easier for clients.
• Enjoy collaborating and sharing ideas for improving how things get done.

Why You’ll Enjoy Working Here
• A schedule that fits your life. Choose working hours that accommodate your other responsibilities, with coordination around deadlines and team needs.
• Work from home. Enjoy the convenience of a remote role based in Washington State.
• Room to keep learning. Build your tax knowledge while working closely with experienced CPAs.
• Opportunity to grow. Start part-time, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time as the firm grows.
• A team where you have a voice. Your questions, ideas, and contributions matter.

Anticipated Start Date: January 4, 2027

Expected Hours: Approximately 20-25 hours per week, with additional hours potentially available.

Compensation and Benefits
• $28–$40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
• Retirement plan with employer match
• Two weeks of paid time off for vacation and sick leave
• Stipend for remote work setup
• Referral program
