In this role, you will advance Equinix’s AI Inference Networking efforts within a globally distributed open-source-driven team. You’ll help grow our open-source presence and shape features for a scalable, secure cloud/network platform. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, assess new technologies, and guide implementation aligned with our engineering standards. This is a mission to transform how the world connects through open, high-performance networking.

Responsibilities
• Work in a globally distributed development team on AI Inference open-source software
• Cultivate Equinix’s open-source presence and reputation in OSS organizations and standards bodies (e.g., CNCF, Linux Foundation)
• Interact with stakeholders to understand and document product features
• Provide LOE for the product backlog and coordinate with PMs to define schedules
• Assist in evaluating new technologies to meet roadmap goals
• Advise on technology choices for product features and platform
• Advocate design and development best practices per engineering standards
• Prioritize tasks and handle ad-hoc requests

Key requirements
• 5+ years designing and building highly redundant SDN network infrastructure with L4/L7 proxying, HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, gRPC, SNI routing, mTLS, reverse proxies (HAProxy, Envoy, NGINX)
• 5+ years applying network and security principles within cloud infrastructure
• Strong xklufbp understanding of OSI Layer and its application
• Proven ability to deliver resilient network systems and excellent end-user experiences
• Hands-on technical skills with capability to deep-dive into complex network designs
• Familiarity with APIs and building network automation or monitoring dashboards
• Programming skills in Go, Python, C/C++, Rust
• DevOps mindset to improve CICD with GitHub Actions and DORA metrics
