School Age Teacher

Kiddie Academy of Vacaville is looking for amazing school age teachers to help lead their school age program.

School Age teachers prepare and implement age-appropriate classroom lessons in core subjects, and work to develop life skills and a love of learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A bachelors or associates degree or 12 units of Early Childhood Education units. Teaching Credential, Child Care Permit or Certificate, or BA preferred.

2. At least 6 months experience working with children in a licensed child care center or in an elementary school preferred.

3. Applicants must be personable, reliable and child oriented.

5. Proven ability to work effectively and professionally with children, families, and adult staff.

6. Demonstrated skills in effective communication, both written and verbal.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Site Director and/or Assistant Director, the school age teacher is responsible for the following areas:

• Maintain safety, ensuring the welfare of all enrolled children and the supervision of children during all activities.

• Assist in the maintenance of appropriate standards for children's discipline and behavior standards using non-punitive methods.

• Day-to-day operations; including, but not limited to, maintaining a harmonious and efficient work environment

• Curriculum: planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation such as arts and crafts, group time, science, indoor and outdoor games, snacks and lunch. Lesson plans, curriculum plans, supply requests, etc., are completed on time.

• Develops and maintains professional relationships with classroom co-teachers, program co-workers, families, and other staff members.

• Attends all staff meetings and other work related functions.

• Continues to develop professional self.

• Able to lift 40 lbs.

• Other responsibilities as assigned.
