Fixed Assets Accountant (LT - 0137)

3i People, Inc. is hiring a Fixed Asset Accountant for a telecommunications client in Charlotte, NC. This hybrid contract role supports capital project accounting, fixed asset reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience working with fixed assets and CAPEX processes.

What you'll do
• Prepare monthly journal entries and support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Perform reconciliations and resolve accounting issues related to classification, timing, and proper application of accounting guidance.
• Track construction-in-progress balances and support project-to-asset transfers.
• Review depreciation activity and assist with asset retirements, impairments, and disposals.
• Maintain fixed asset sub-ledgers and update asset records during non-close periods as needed.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with Operations to validate capital labor and overhead allocations.
• Support internal controls, process improvements, and special projects as assigned.

What you bring
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 5-9 years of experience in fixed asset or CAPEX accounting.
• Strong understanding of capital versus operating expense treatment under GAAP.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience with Oracle and MS Dynamics 365.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage reconciliations, reporting, and close tasks with accuracy and timeliness.
