Daycare Assistant (Part-Time, Thu & Fri)

Butterfly Home Care is a licensed family child care home in San Diego (University City, 92122). We care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a small, warm home setting, and we're looking for a dependable assistant.

SCHEDULE – PLEASE READ FIRST:

This is a PART-TIME position: two full days per week — Thursday and Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (8-hour days, 16 hours per week). Reliability is essential — you must be able to arrive on time, every Thursday and Friday. Occasional extra coverage days may be offered. Please apply only if this schedule truly works for you.

PAY:

$18/hour, up to $19–20/hour for candidates with strong daycare experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Hands-on care of infants and toddlers: diaper changes, bottle feeding, simple meal and snack prep, dressing, nap time, play and circle time, and keeping play areas clean and safe.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Real, hands-on childcare experience in a daycare or preschool — infant/toddler experience strongly preferred

• Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification

• Up-to-date immunizations (required by California childcare law) and a negative TB test

• Live Scan fingerprint background check clearance before starting (if you don't have these yet, you must be willing to complete them right away)

• Physically active job: on your feet most of the day, lifting little ones, bending and playing on the floor

• Reliable transportation and a short, dependable commute — you must arrive by 8:00 AM sharp

• Good English for communicating with parents

OUR PROCESS:

We start with one paid trial day. After that, a short training period (a few days, up to one week), and then we decide together about continuing.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 per week
