NYCM Construction Management
Brooklyn, New YorkConstruction Superintendent/Project Manager
About the role
Superintendent | NYCM Construction Management
NYCM Construction Management | General Contractor | New York City | Full-Time, On-Site
About Us
NYCM Construction Management is a general contractor building ground-up developments, major gut renovations with horizontal and vertical expansions, interior commercial fit-outs, and other commercial and residential projects across New York City. We are growing aggressively, with new projects coming in and our field leadership team expanding to match. We self-perform carpentry with our own in-house crew, so you’ll work with a team we control rather than relying only on outside trades.
The Role
We are hiring a licensed Superintendent to take full ownership of the field on our projects. You will run the jobsite day to day, from mobilization through closeout, with minimal oversight. You’ll work closely with our project managers and ownership, but we need someone who can run a site independently, make sound decisions in real time, and take care of everything that happens on it.
Responsibilities
• Lead all field operations across ground-up construction, gut renovations with horizontal and vertical expansions, and commercial interior fit-outs
• Build and maintain master and look-ahead schedules, and coordinate and sequence all subcontractors alongside our in-house carpentry crew
• Hold subcontractors accountable for manpower, schedule, quality, and safety
• Run the site safety program: daily inspections, toolbox talks, site orientations, incident reporting, and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with all permits, DOB requirements, and applicable codes and regulations, including scheduling and passing inspections
• Keep project paperwork current: daily logs, manpower reports, progress photos, RFIs, submittals, delivery tracking, and punch lists
• Verify work in place against drawings and specifications, and catch quality issues before they become rework
• Coordinate material deliveries, logistics, and site access in dense urban conditions
• Work with the PM on change orders, schedule impacts, and progress documentation
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors
• Manage closeout, including punch lists, final inspections, and turnover documentation
Requirements
• Valid NYC DOB Construction Superintendent license in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a superintendent or assistant superintendent on ground-up construction
• Proven ability to run a jobsite independently and keep projects on schedule
• Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and trade coordination
• OSHA 30 and a valid NYC Site Safety Training (SST) card
• Comfortable with daily reporting and project management software (such as Procore) and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the confidence to manage subcontractors and hold the line on safety and quality
• Ability to work on-site full time
Nice to Have
• Experience with gut renovations involving vertical and horizontal expansions
• Experience with commercial interior fit-outs
• Experience in wood-frame, concrete, or steel construction
• Familiarity with NYC DOB processes and local inspectors
• Prior experience at a small-to-mid-sized GC
What We Offer
• Competitive compensation: $[X] to $[X] per year, based on experience
• Real ownership of your projects and a direct line to leadership
• A varied project mix: ground-up, major renovations, and commercial interiors
• The support of an in-house carpentry crew
• Real room to grow as the company expands
• We are evaluating expanded benefits as the company grows
