Travel and Expense Analyst 40

Job Summary/Company: Sparks Group has partnered with a leading government contracting organization to identify a few detail-oriented Travel and Expense Analysts for a six-month contract opportunity with the potential for extension or permanent hire. This role is part of the Employee Payables Team and focuses on auditing travel and expense filings, resolving policy exceptions, and delivering high-touch support to employees while ensuring strict corporate compliance. Responsibilities:

• Audit and resolve flagged transactions identified by automated monitoring tools and accounts payable systems.
• Serve as a key resource for employee inquiries regarding travel policies, reimbursement timelines, and expense reporting procedures.
• Maintain thorough audit records and documentation to ensure full compliance and reporting accuracy.
• Analyze expense and card data to detect trends, identify discrepancies, and recommend operational improvements.
• Drive system optimization efforts for travel & expense (T&E) platforms and commercial purchasing cards (P-Cards).
• Apply policy guidelines consistently while exercising sound judgment to resolve escalated financial discrepancies.
Qualifications/Background Profile: • 1+ years of professional experience, ideally within expense report auditing, financial transaction review, or accounts payable support.
• Hands-on experience with T&E management or audit software (such as Concur, Oversight, Ivalua, or similar platforms).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel for data review and Outlook for business communications.
• Background in customer service, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and analytical problem-solving capabilities to handle sensitive financial inquiries independently.
• High School Diploma/GED required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
