JC Law is a family law, criminal defense and civil litigation firm with offices in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. Our Fairfax office represents clients across Northern Virginia in domestic relations and civil matters.

The Opportunity

We are hiring Virginia-licensed attorneys at every experience level, including the newly admitted, to join our Fairfax litigation team. This is a courtroom role from the start. You will carry your own docket, appear regularly in the Fairfax-area Juvenile and Domestic Relations District, General District and Circuit Courts, and develop under a supervising partner who reviews your work and invests in your growth.

Responsibilities
• Manage an active docket of domestic relations and civil matters from intake through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, negotiation, hearings and trial
• Appear regularly in the Fairfax-area courts
• Advise clients and keep them informed at every stage of their matter
• Take part in client intake consultations
• Meet a weekly billable target of 30 hours and maintain a client collection rate of at least 85%
• Keep matters current in the firm's case management system

Qualifications
• An active Virginia State Bar license in good standing
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade
• Adept at legal drafting, including custody agreements, wills, divorce pleadings, annulments, prenuptial agreements, child custody and support, and visitation, and ready to grow in each area

Preferred
• Litigation experience through private practice, a prosecutor's or public defender's office, a clerkship or a law school clinic
• Additional languages spoken by Northern Virginia clients

Compensation and Benefits

At the time of posting, the base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $175,000. Offers are based on experience and qualifications, and the structure of compensation can be discussed during the interview process.
